A Furry Head Sticking Out Of The Sewer Resulted In A Rescue Mission
One morning, animal control officers in Lexington, Kentucky, received several calls about a poor Husky that was trapped inside a sewer drain.
They were quite confused because it was not clear to them how such a dog could have gotten in there.
Still, they had to go to that place because it was not a coincidence that so many people were calling them and pointing out the same problem.
When they got to the “crime scene”, a little furry nose was sticking out through a crack in the concrete slabs.
Rescuers Brought Him Incredible Joy
“We don’t know how [he] got in there,” a representative from Lexington-Fayette Animal Care & Control told The Dodo. “But we suspect he went through the drain pipe and could not figure out how to get out the way he came in.”
It was truly a bizarre situation and somewhat funny. Nevertheless, it was not time for laughter, but for immediate action because at first, they didn’t know what condition Sebastian, as the Husky was called, was in.
However, when they got a little closer to him, they saw that everything was fine. Aside from that, they were glad that despite his sticky situation, Sebastian was in good spirits.
“[Sebastian] had always wanted to meet the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” Lexington-Fayette Animal Care & Control joked in a Facebook post about the rescue. “But instead, found himself face to face with a couple of Animal Control Officers!”
Joking aside, these amazing rescuers quickly got to work removing a drain cover for easier access. Soon afterward, mischievous Sebastian was crawling out of the drain with a big smile on his face, as if nothing happened.
“He had a great time being rescued and enjoyed his stay,” the representative said for The Dodo. “He would 100 percent do it again.”
His Parents Weren’t So Overjoyed
As soon as he was rescued, people from Animal Care & Control contacted Seabstian’s parents. They were very worried about their beloved pet and breathed a sigh of relief when they heard that he had been saved.
On the other hand, Sebastian was in a completely different mood. He was enjoying his time at the rescue, and was busy making new friends, surely having no idea the trouble he’d caused.
“The spunky Sebastian is now safe and sound at our facility and is eagerly waiting to be reunited with his owners!” Animal Care & Control wrote in their Facebook post.
Soon, Sebastian and his daddy were reunited. The expressions on their faces in the photo best depict the state of affairs – Dad, on the verge of tears, and a smiling, almost overjoyed Sebastian.
But, who could blame such a cutie pie? We certainly wouldn’t, and especially not those to whom his smile brings happiness every day.
“We love happy endings!” Lexington-Fayette Animal Care & Control wrote at the end of their post.
