Last glimpsed in October 2021 at Wetherby, where he was unfortunately pulled up, Cyrname had since been absent from the racing circuit. Though details regarding his cause of death remain undisclosed at this time, the heartbreaking news has been verified by those close to the storied racehorse.

Cyrname’s career was one filled with dramatic highs and challenging lows. After undergoing wind surgery during a 280-day hiatus, he made an electrifying comeback to outperform Altior in a race that had spectators on the edge of their seats. His triumph in that thrilling face-off saw his ratings catapult to an impressive 177.

While he displayed enormous potential, Cyrname had his share of setbacks. Notably, he ended up in a distant second place behind Clan Des Obeaux in the King George. His attempt to defend his Betfair Chase title in February 2020 met with an unfortunate fall.

Following another extended break of 259 days, Cyrname returned to the track and claimed victory in the Charlie Hall Chase on Halloween that same year. However, that would be one of his final appearances as he was pulled up in his subsequent two races.

Cyrname was more than just a racehorse; he was an icon that captivated fans and fellow athletes alike. His absence will be deeply felt, but his legacy will undoubtedly continue to inspire for generations to come. We extend our heartfelt condolences and prayers to everyone in the horse racing community affected by this devastating loss.
