Dog Who Lived In A Junkyard His Whole Life Finally Gets His Own Home
Stray dogs face the relentless struggles of survival on a daily basis – all alone and terrified.
In order to survive, many of them end up seeking refuge at the most unusual places… just like this little Terrier mix did when he chose to live in a junkyard.
Between all the clutter and chaos, he found shelter and people who provided him with food, but no one loved him enough to take him home.
Meet Flash
Flash lived all his life in a junkyard in California, and while everybody loved him there, they weren’t able to provide him with a real home.
They fed him and showed him love, but a life surrounded by all this chaos could never compare to a life in a warm and safe home.
A security guard at the junkyard finally decided to call a local rescue organization – Hope For Paws – for help.
“Everybody at the junkyard loved Flash, they loved seeing him, feeding him, and petting him, but no one loved him enough to take him home. Luckily, one employee got worried about him because of another major storm that was coming through and called us for help,” said Hope For Paws.
Eldad, the founder of the rescue, along with Loreta Frankonyte, headed out to rescue this junkyard dog before a major storm fully developed.
When they arrived at the location, they could see that the workers truly loved the dog and took good care of him since he was looking healthy and fed.
But, unfortunately, no one loved him enough to provide him with a warm home.
His home was made out of a makeshift tarp, some cardboard boxes, and other junk. Since he was sleeping on a wet floor, he was also very dirty.
“The dog was well-fed, but the worker who texted us knew he deserved better,” Hope For Paws said.
He didn’t crave food, but love and warmth, which the filthy junkyard could never provide him with.
A Lucky Break
It wasn’t hard at all to put a leash on Flash and guide him to the carrier.
Before they left, the security guard wished Flash good luck on his new journey. He even gave Eldad and Loreta his number, so they could send him some photos of Flash after his bath.
There was no doubt that he loved this dog, and he knew the best thing to do for him was to contact Hope For Paws.
As soon as they arrived at their facility, Flash received medical care and was given a nice, proper bath.
At first, Flash was a bit confused about being indoors for the first time in his life, but he quickly became accustomed. He was so happy to be clean.
Luckily, Foxy and the Hounds, a non-profit dog rescue from Los Angeles, offered to foster Flash!
It didn’t take long for this beautiful 6-year-old male to find his forever home.
Just a couple of days later, at the Foxy and the Hounds weekend adoption event, the perfect person for Flash came by and he was adopted.
“We have no doubt our rescues are exactly where they belong. Our hearts are so full and we could not be any happier knowing that Flash [and other rescues] will have a lifetime filled with love, cuddles, adventure, and the most beautiful families to call their own,” the rescue posted on their Facebook page.
Enjoy your new life, Flash!
