Tragedy in Affluent Presidio Heights Neighborhood
A young woman was found dead of a suspected homicide in San Francisco’s affluent Presidio Heights neighborhood on Thursday evening, according to police.
Victim Identified as Kimberly Wong
The victim has been identified by neighbors as Kimberly Wong. She was found deceased inside her home during a welfare check after police received a request for a well-being check at a residential building in the 3200 block of Clay Street.
Officers arrived at 7:12 p.m. and discovered Wong, who was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The department’s homicide detail is investigating and police suspect Wong may be the victim of domestic violence, according to a police source.
No Arrests Made as Investigation Continues
As of Friday afternoon, no arrest had been made and no official details about potential suspects were released. The investigation remains open and active.
Shock and Disbelief Among Friends and Neighbors
Both neighbors in Wong’s building and her former coworkers expressed shock and disbelief over her tragic death.
“It’s pretty shocking to learn of her passing in a really tragic way,” said one neighbor, who recalled Wong as outgoing and the first person to welcome new residents.
Alberto Forero, a former colleague of Wong’s, described her as “positive, smart and energetic” and questioned how something so “senseless” could happen to someone so vibrant.
Seeking Justice for Slain Woman
Friends say Wong was kind and will be deeply missed. They hope her case will be resolved and justice will be served.
As the investigation continues, police urge anyone with information to come forward and contact the SFPD tip line.
